I need some help here guys. I can snagg a 2500HD GMC 4x4 for cheap. The thing is they say its a 6.5TD, but I cant find a listing for it on edmonds. I was trying to look up the specs.

It has the long bed, and extended cab, according to the owner. From the pics, looks to be the case.

I want to know if I can swap on a 4-door cab and SAS it. (to make a nice tow rig)

Thanks for the help.

Anything is possible! The cabswap and SAS aren't exactly easy bolt-on mods, but are definitely possible. The main issue with teh cab swap is the bed. You can fab body mounts for the rear of the cab, but will probably have to make a custom sized bed unless you want to lengthen the frame.

There are plenty of kits to SAS these trucks, but none are exactly cheap. But as long as you want to do some serious cutting of the stock IFS components, and spend some cash on a front axle and brackets, its doable.

Kits can come from here, but i know there are others:

I'm confused...what's your question?

If it's diesel related yes, the 6.5L TD was the diesel engine in 2500's like that back then.

my orginal question was to convert this truck to a 4 door and SA...

but yah.. prob not going to do it... too much work..

and when I was trying to look up the specs.. edmonds didnt list the 6.5 as an option...
