Looking for info on these. I got a 4l60E out of 99 suburban with a 5.7L SBC. Appararently they only made these two piece bellhousings for 4 years before they switched to the LS style bellhousing. Anyway, it has a spot for two braces that bolt to the bottom of the bellhousing and attach to the motor mounts. I do not know if they used the braces since 96 or if they used them in 2WD at all.

I cant find any info on them, all I find are the Tcase braces.

Here are some low res screen shots I have captured from a quick scan of oil change and starter replacement videos...

I got questions....

1 - do they use the same sandwich plates from the motor mounts as the older transmission braces, or are those parts different?

2 - do they clear regular oil filters?

3 - does anyone have a set? :haha:

I think you have the years off.
96-98 have the old style one piece case.
The 99 started the style you.
I have a complete 99 engine transmission from a van.
I will try and get the pieces out for you

Thank you Issaam, let me know, I could purchase the rods from you. I am curious if the plates that get sandwiched by the motor mounts are the same as the older units that worked with 700R4, TH400, etc, or they are special for 99 4L60E?

From my research there are 3 types of bellhousings for the 4L60E. I learned the hard way.

I got a 4L60E from a 04 Trailblazer with a 5.3L. And I was gonig to use that. Until I realized after calling 3 different custom converter shops I couldn't get a converter for a LS style 4L60E to use with an older 2 piece main seal SBC. So I had to get a different trans, hence the 99 4L60E from the Burb.

The 3 are shown below...though there is some overlap and may be some overlap with the last one too, not sure what they did with the LS in Corvette 97 or a Camaro in 98 or the LS in trucks in 99? My father had a 99 5.3 Silverado a while back, drove it to over 200K and then someone pulled out in front of him. He had to fix the exhaust manifold studs but bragged he never changed the spark plugs and it was still not misfiring, ha ha.

Anyway, there are two different types of 2 piece bellhousings, the one for the LS with a top center bolt is longer than the other 2 for a larger converter and it has a different input shaft than the other two. Then the older style 1 piece case on the left. I have the middle one.

So two on the right, two piece bellhousing.

Two on the left, older input shaft.

BTW, the bellhousing that goes all the way around the bottom is quite annoying to shim the converter.

Ok I guess I have to clarify my statement, in fullsize trucks, the separate bell didn't start until 1999.
As for the plates, I don't know if they are the same but that was what I was saying I will check

I know GM was offering the motor mount brace plate part into the 2000s. I had thoughts of getting it from them to replace my mia ones in my 77.
Not sure if same part, I ended up getting some off ebay.

Any luck Issaam?

Sorry I have been crazy busy trying to stay afloat.
I will get to it this Saturday
Any luck with this Issaam?

Apparently I missed a set on eBay that sold back in Nov, they look like this...
