1996 SAC project

Had a question for you guys who run a flat bed or even no bed at all. I currently do not have a bed and am thinking about running without one. How does this impact offroading? Negative or positive? Rear end too lite?

How about pushing the cab back a little and make a stubby bed !!! Give ya more front end clearance !!! A flat bed/tool box and cage would give you some of the weight you would lose by not running a dent prone bed !
