I'll give it to the first one with $1k.

I think it's worth more, but this is what the dealer will give me for it, I don't have time to mess with it with all it's issues or part it out, so....so before I give it to the low balling stealer, I'll give it up to the CK5 Community for the same price who may actually appreciate it or at least some of it's parts. Around here, they pay $285/ton for scrap vehicles so it's worth on the order of $800 just if it was scraped.

1997 Chevrolet K2500 (heavy) Regular Long bed 6.5l TD w/NV4500 Transmission. The heavy means its the 8600GVWR version which has cast front a-arms and 14bolt full-float rear. Truck has 418,000km (~260,000mi) (Canadian dash, I bought it in Canada)

Truck has A/C (indicator light if A/C is on or off doesn't work), cloth seat, vinyl floor, manual windows and door locks, 6 disc CD changer, stock AM/FM/cassette stereo. Everything is in working order including the A/C and 4x4.

Keep in mind, I drive this truck back and forth from MI to Ohio currently, it's a great driver. However, it's got issues.
The following is a list of issues:
  • Will need brakes very soon. And a full job, rotors and drums are no longer turnable.
  • Engine cuts out on colder days during warm up, sometimes for split seconds, sometimes for minutes (yes, it's side of the road time until it restarts, that's only happened once). I believe it to the PMD, of which there is a spare mounted under hood, but I've not switched to it as if I pull the lead wire off the PMD on the pump (in the engine valley), you won't be able to get it back on there, so if the spare doesn't work, it's all over. Currently, it only happens after about 5-15 minutes of driving, after that it never happens for the rest of the day. Your results may vary, it won't fix itself and will likely get worse.
  • ABS cuts on at low speed. Can catch a driver off-gaurd if they aren't paying attention. Easily rectified by disabling the ABS I guess. One of the sensors is likely dirty
  • Turn signal relay fires constantly sometimes. Just the relay, the actual turn signal comes on and off with the control stick, but the relay sometimes fires for minutes. Just annoying listening to the click, but probably not going to fix itself and may get worse.
  • Smokes on startup on cold days. Never used to, sign of valves going bad perhaps?
  • Could use new glow plugs. Starts are rough below 20 unless it's plugged in.
  • Tires 25%
  • Heavy body damage from an accident 10 years ago. No scratches, just big dents. Major dent on passenger bedside, smaller dent on passenger front quarter panel. Hood also has slight dent, as well as drivers cab corner and front bumper.
  • Drivers floor is getting slightly spongy

Now the good stuff:
  • New starter & alternator in the past few months
  • Front end is super tight, a rarity for these heavy IFS trucks. I last did the ball joints and TRE's about a year ago
  • Has front receiver and front and rear high power winch feeds
  • Has been very reliable until the stupid PMD started acting up again
  • Always have used Mobil 1 Delvac in it since I bought it with 20,000mi
  • Gas tank has been Renu-d (meaning, it will never rust, ever)

**** I hate dealers.

Let me see if any of my friends are looking. At the very least it'd be a good plow truck.

I would be buying it if I was closer, but I think the drive will kill the deal.:dunno:

No I don't. I'm in Michinga and the truck's in Ohio so I couldn't take any before monday. What is it that your looking for?

Here's a couple more pictures of the "bad" side, remember, these dents have been here for 10+ years.

Damn I wish I was closer, I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat

I really want this but don't have the cash(new double wide and 75 acre farm) and the wife would kill me.

Well, I need to get rid of it. I listed it on Craigslist for $1300. Judging by the responses I"m getting, it'll probably be gone by this afternoon.

Last chance......Buelller.....Bueller......

Been trying to spread the word for you man.

Lots of interest but everyone's too far away or too broke.

I Appreciate it brother!!! Thanks! Would rather see it go to someone here who can appreciate it (or at least the price for it). These CL people kill me.

If I had the money and the space it'd be a great donor for The Blazer...but I don't...by far. So I thought I'd try and help.

Man if you could keep it there until the spring, and wait for my payment in february, I would still say I buy it, it would be the donor for one of my projects.
