1997 K3500 Dually

4x4 will not engage for front drive
dealer sold me new actuator, not the fix
chevy dealer order new harness but must splice new harness to ???? no directions. Did not buy new harness.

4x4 does not engage FRONT drive wheels, back wheels engage as expecteed
no lights on shifter an expected in the lever on floor.

The actuator looks the same as the original.
The wiring harnes has the same connection for the ACTUATOR but an additional 2-pin connector that should go somehwere. Surmize, wrong harness for my axle.

Raised truck, all positions of transfer case work as expected 2WD, 4HI, 4LOW, front driveshaft turns as expected

Any help is appreciated

the actuator was redesigned. the dealer should have known to sell you the harness with the redesigned actuator. sounds like they just dropped the ball.

Might also be worth it to get the 4x4 posi unit. Slightly more work, but a whole heck of a lot more reliable. (And you also get 2wd low gear if you needed to move something silly....
