Hey everyone. Long time wheeler, I haven't been on this forum in a long time. However I finally got out of my 4 runner and am back in the full size world.

I recently purchased a 99 3/4 ton suburban. Fully loaded, 454, 4L80, leather, etc. I am looking to build a semi-aggressive family wheeler out of it. I'm in the northwest and I was sick of not having heat/AC and the amenities now that I have the kids wheeling with me a lot more.

Currently it has a 6 inch IFS lift and a 3 inch body lift. It has my studs from my Dmax on it just so I could shake it down on the trail and see if I could find anything wrong with it. So far so good.

The fun stuff. I have a ruffstuff 3 link kit, and a refreshed/newer super 60 sitting in the shop waiting for it. Next week the tires and wheels show up, I went with 37" general grabber MT's on some cheap aluminum wheels. I am going to go with 2.5" 14" travel Kings up front.

Here is my question.
I want to do 63's in the rear. Will this work? I know the weight is significantly different in the suburbans, but I am not familiar enough with the leaf springs to know if it will work or not. The end game for the rear is 63's (or a different leaf set up that will help with flex/ride and get rid of the blocks) shackle flip, and a set of remote reservoir shocks (either FOA or Kings depending on which set I can coax out of my buddy)

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

PS I hope this is posted in the right spot

Find out what the weight capacity of current springs, then match them up with 63s. I'd guess some off a 3/4 ton would be close.

Id guess 3/4 ton too... based on him saying its a 3/4 ton suburban. ;)
Sorry, full of smart ass this morning.

Are you wanting to go 63s for the offset(29"/34") / to move the axle? Just asking because stock 99 3/4 came with centered 60s.
Also 1/2 tons might flex better if thats what youre after
