i dunno about stating that cracked ribs is "ok" some of those cracks can be pretty deep into the belt. mild ones i can understand, but for the most part, if you're at the point of replacing an alternator, chances are, that belt hasn't been checked or even replaced in a very long time, and honestly should be replaced at the time of the alternator, as cheap insurance.


even with them costing in the $20-30 range, i personally don't think it's too much to replace them at this time.
