i havent had a chance to work on any of my own vehicles for a long time. but today i did.
here is the low down
welded my spare spiders.
made an orb of traction
installed the orb into the 14b in the burb.
installed the 38s onto the burb
hacked the fenders to clear said tires
installed the 35s from the burb onto the crew.

after i finish cleaniing the garage tomorrow, i might even work on my k5. what a concept

onto the pics

"orb of traction," sounds so magical!

it magically made the burbalanche slide sideways and still not go up the hill behind the house. i dont now what this trucks deal is, but it still gets no traction.

im not even going to attempt locking the 10b. i will hold out for a cheap 60.

Thats weird. Wonder whats going on with having no traction?

I have the same wheels. I got mine from Les Schawb around 12 yrs. ago.

Well despite the lack of traction, it sure doos look good! And i think the crew looks better on the BFG's.

i hate those wheels:haha: they came with the tires. i like your burb though. when you cutting off the back?

i didnt get to test it out much cause it was out of gas. (454) i will do a little more testing this weekend hopefully

the crew will be alot more useful too

I bought those wheels so I could fit it on a trailer to move from Nor-Cal to SO-cal. I am going to get some Raceline Beadlocks and 42in. Goodyear's.

Im not going to cut the Burb. I am going to finish this and start another project. Something smaller, So I can play with the Jeeps.

full locked can lead to sideways slides under power. ( this is why i went arb selectable locker )

and the style of tire you have is hard rubber = less grip and solid blocks that need to be groved up for more traction. ( why i have my own tire grover gun ) http://www.bryke.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=BRP&Product_Code=902-000&Category_Code=

second set of tires i have had on this thing. both with the same results. the sliding is expected. but the lack of forward momentum wasnt. i was on hard pack dirt/grass. those tires do well on that kind of stuff. they only have a hard time in deep mud or ice.

i think the problem is its a manual trans. no smooth power transfer. there is also 25psi in them. i will air them down to 10 and see what happens this weekend

Thanks. I have a new idea on closing up the rear. I will post up a thread when i get goin on it.
