I was in a big block truck and now i must have one. I found this from a friend. It has been rebuilt. has 67k on it and from what little i know about gas it runs good. this fair? not fair? Any thing i should look for?

thx mike

Tbi? Carb? MPFI?

are you getting all the computer stuff and harness?

I'm guessing its complete. see if you can get him to go 700. I know you can get a crate sb for 1k but 1k for a stock bb with 67k miles seems a little steep.

if it's an entire truck, then yes, it is a good deal.

I would only pay 1000, if it came from an engine rebuilder shop or knew the motor is new.

Just found out it has 50k on it. So what do you guys think..$5-600??

thx mike

I'd say as low as you can get him to go...

tell him that all the guys over a ck5 said 1k is a BAD deal and try to get him to bring it down to 5 or 6 hundred... no more than 700.

I'm guessing he doesn't have anybody interested in it and will be willing to bring the price down.

the carb 454's do have 10 more hp than the tbi but make peak tq at a higher rpm and its still a carb.

I agree with finding a old beater bomb with a good running big block. I bough a rusted out crew cab truck with a healty 454 for $200.00 a few years back. Parted it out and made over $1,500.00 off it.

Ya the seller seams to have love for it so the price is always higher in that case.
FYI ~ I got my complete "running when pulled" 454 fer 175 bucks. I know that is a screamin deal and will be hard to find but the deals are out there so if you can wait they pop up from time to time.
