1st Gen Top ID

I am considering ordering the seals that go between the top and the bed rails, but I do not know which top I have. The catalogs list either a single wall or double. They are identified by the direction of the bolt that holds the top on. My top was not on the truck when I bought it, so I don't know which direction the bolts are supposed to go. Are there any other ways to determine what top I have?

Yep, Look at your bed rails you should have factory holes. If you see darkness and some kinda sliding nut then you have the style that bolts from the top down. I belive this is a single wall style. I have this style and the hard top's rails will just have holes to put the bolt in from the top down.

I have never seen the other style but inorder for the bolt to come from the bottom up you would need some kinda nut to be on the inside of the hard top's rails....

There would be no way to bolt a double wall top down from the top. The bolts go up from under the bed rails into blind holes in the top. With a double wall top, you can't even see the bolts from the top side. The top has a metal rail with the nuts welded to it molded right into the it. If you can see where the bolts go in from the top side, it is a single wall top.

Thanks for the help. I guess maybe my top did not come on my truck because the top has open holes in it for the bolts just as the bedrails do. There are no nuts anywhere on the rails. I will call it a single wall and just buy bolts and nuts to attach the top with.

Yep you got it man! Should be fine I belive the window frame for the two types of tops are the same. i could be wrong so you may want to verify the holes up there line up!
