What year is your bug? I can't see the headlight buckets so I'm gonna guess a 65 or 66?

Dual webers and bosh 009?

Haha, good eye. It's a 65, body is sittin on jackstands while the floorpans are being ordered. Motor on the bench is an 1835 that I just finished buttoning back up. I put in a brand new Rancho Prostreet trans, drove it for about 100 miles and the damn bushing on one of the rods(small end) came loose and was making a helluva noise back and forth on the wristpin haha. So I tore it down threw a new set of rods/bearings and pistons/cylinders/rings on it. Yeah it's a 009 dizzy, but those are dual Dellorto 40's.

What brown brought me today. Also scored a 2wd steering box for free:D
90% of the parts gathered for the build and i'm goin' nuckin' futs haha. ALL I need left is a draglink for crossover, diff gaskets, bodybushing kit and extended rear brake line. (Until I get knee deep in the axle swap and realize I missed somethin haha)
Already have d60/14bff(new everything), Ujoints, ubolts, spring plates, steering arm/dropped pitman/TRE's/2wd box for x-over, 4" spings/zerorates front, homebrew shackle flip with longer shackles rear, new shocks, 39" pitbull maddogs, new wheels/lugnuts, ord 1" body, gear oil, brake fluid and a new pack of sawzall blades:wink1:.

Later date(aka more money cuz I spent part of this budget on parts for above beetle) plans include:
winch, cage, beadlocks, seats, line-x interior and full roofrack with lights.

Im technologically intolerant so i cant get the idea out of my head onto the net

Not yet, just been looking around at different cages and getting ideas. I do know that I want it as close/form fitting to the inside as i can. I like stuff from these

Are you looking at a full length roll cage or like half of one ending after the rear seats?

Got the draglink coming tomorrow and picked up the rear brakeline and poly bodymount kit to go on with the 1"body. ALL parts gathered for operation Beef the Burb haha.

The late nights of wrenching start TODAY!!!!:D:D

Not to hi-jack the thread but......

What part of Nevada did you live in? I was born and raised in Reno and I moved away from there 5 years ago.

Yerington mostly but lived in Gardnerville/Minden for a few years. Born in Lovelock.

I really liked the Minden/Gardnerville are a lot. Dayton is a nice place too but I was amazed to see that the 20 mile drive between Dayton and Silver Springs is all developed now.

Got drivers side of burb done with new Energy polymounts and ORD 1" bodylift lastnight. Got home too late and tired today to finish passenger side haha. I will do it tomorrow in the daylight and take pics.
Brought tires and rims to Walmart today and got'em mounted for $3.50 a pop:D. Crappy part is the shop guy said he wouldn't put the airsoft beads in there for me, I dunno what the liability could be:confused:. Guess I'll have to put'em either through the valve stem with the core removed or tie somethin to the valvestem and push it in to fill with beads then pull it back through.
Couple more things showed up today. Last pic made my day:pimp:

You know, those parts could fail because of poor quality. I'd hate to see you sink all kinds of $$ into your Sub only to break parts. So here's what I'm willing to do for ya. You come to Montana and we'll put those parts on my Suburban, I'll drive it for a couple of years wheelin' it in the Bitterroot Mtn's and if something breaks, I'll tell you about it, you buy a stronger replacement and I'll test it out for ya.

Hell of a deal huh?

Seriously, I can't wait to see what your Sub looks like, and I really can't wait until I can start to build mine up.

Deal! You just gotta drive down here and pick it all up haha.
I'm pumped to get rolling on the axle swap this weekend after I knock out the other half of the BL/bushings. Many pics to come this weekend!:D

Excellent!! I'll drive down there sometime in July when my wife gets her vacation and we'll just strip your Sub and put it on mine....................................................oh, you buy the gas. :D

Remember, this is gonna benefit you in the extemely long run. :wink1:

You can pop a bead and slip them thru, just deflate and drive over it.
Thru the valve stem will be very hard and to push that stem in, well it will take you a while and most likely be destroyed, I have tried to remove some to transfer to other wheels, it's a bitch to do.

Got a little done this weekend......
All the small stuff to go still but she's on her own feet.:D

That looks wicked! Your'e making me jealous with the buildup of your Burb. I can't wait till I get my Sub lifted so my daughter and I can go 4 wheelin', (wife isn't much of a fan).
