does any one know if going to a corvette master cylinder, will fix a soft pedal. i have rear disc breaks now and need a larger volume of fluid to the rear calipers.
is installing a proportioning valve a needed to have quality breaking and control

better MC yes, prop valve no. The valve is only if you get too much lockup of the rear brakes.

thay have tryed vette master to low a volume for the MASSIVE pistion size of 1tons.

what master do you have now is the first question.

i have run 1ton master with 1 tons and disk with no problems other than adj prop valve to rear to keep from locking up.

i dont know if it helps or not, but there was someone on here used a Van MC and said it worked good.....

Sorry, im not good searching

I put a 3/4 m/c on mine but had to swap the lines front to rear at the m/c. What a huge difference. Nice firm pedal

I used one from a 99 C3500, it's a 4 wheel disc truck but still has vac assist. It's a big bore m/c and works really well on mine especially considering I'm using D60 calipers front and rear.

i used my stock one and it works great.i gutted the rear side to have full flow and no constant pressure at the caliper.thats all i did and my brakes work great.ive seen a lot of people on here saying they had trouble and went to either a 1 ton master,or a corvette one made for disk brakes.

The one I used was a direct bolt up to the booster. I had to make my own lines because my body didn't have any so I can't give any feedback about the stock fittings matching or not.

I used an 82 hydroboost diesel unit, but had to make a custom pushrod for it...don't know if that was the m/c suppliers fockup or what...I used the pedal and pushrod, hydroboost unit, and m/c from the same 82 truck, just replaced the m/c, and the original pushrod wasn't long enough to engage the piston in the m/c bore.

1 ton brakes

Thanks, everyone for the info. I will try some of your suggestions and see what happens. I will post what I found that works the best.
