First, please forget they dont have accessory holes. This has been figured out.

What, if any, gains are to be had from putting these on? Casting number 3912291. I bought them for 100$ took them in and had them checked. Aside from having new valve seats installed (because of the unleaded, or maybe run leaded gas or additive if possible?) what else would i need? Not simple stuff like coolant and gaskets, a chip etc... would it be a worth while swap? Everything checked out. They are 2.02 intakes and havent been enlarged.

On my 1990 k5, would this be a good or bad idea?

Why go backwards in engine tech? Yes you can make them work...

But if you want an improvement go forward in engine tech with Vortec or LT1 heads...

Think of cylinder heads as the Lungs of a motor. So yes, you will see some nice gains from 2.02 heads. And yes its a great idea. I would take them to a machine shop, that knows what they are doing, and have them freshend up. Have the bowls and runners polished, new valve seals and spring seats. Have them milled to raise your compression. Get some nice hollow stem, or titanium valves, new valve springs. You wanna build the cylinders head right. You want strong, light weight parts. Its not cheap thow. For a good head rebuild with everything i just mentioned your looking at 1,000-2,500. I have a set of LS3 heads that i have about 2600 into. LOL. But if you build them right, you will never have to worrie about them. And you will see HUGE power gains. I seen a 36 rwhp increase with a set of ported and polished 2.02/1.60 heads on a stock LS1
