Found a rebuilt GM Dana 60 front axle with new hoses, brakes, and 4.56gears with open diff within driving distance. Avoiding shipping this is a $500+ savings. I don't think my luck will get better in cost savings or finding a mechanic to rebuild one for me cheaper. This sound logical to anyone?
Appreciate your feedback.

I sold my 91 takeout of my daily driver condition for $2200. It was a do nothing and install it axle.
Well worth it after you consider the cost to get one to that point.

I will agree that it’s a good price for a truly rebuilt axle BUT average CUCV take outs are $1000-$1200ish and many times are low mileage and only need fresh oil, repacking the bearings and brake pads.

Prices may be different in Cali but that’s the way they go in the Southeast.

I can make the journey out east if there is a deal to be had. My two biggest limiting factors are my physical disability and location. Obviously I can change one for the right price. Do you have any leads or recommendations for a search?

I don’t have any leads at the moment but I’ll post up if I see anything.

I have a Dana 44 that Im rebuilding and just some parts were $650. Not to mention gears, bearings, seals, all the other BS....

Well thanks for the input everyone but its been sold. Second time this has happened now. Search continues.

I used to agree with this but the supply has dried up. A legit CUCV takeout is a rare thing now.

had a hard time selling a gone threw 60 front with SRW hubs for 950.00 on the east coast . guy who purchased it was from like Indiana if i recall and was passing threw with a trailer to pick up stuff for a friend who's uncle passed away otherwise i would still have it .

Thank you for the offer if I still don't have something by next summer I might be out that way hopefully it doesn't come to that.

I sold one for $1300 (repeat buyer) and get $1500 for ones all day long here in Vegas. These have been the DRW versions that would need gone through and converted. I have another DRW I'd consider selling but with shipping your deal would be better, unless you end driving here.

Depending on finding a shop/ mechanic out here and what comes up in the next few months I might reach out to you. Thank you for the offer.

@Kripplek5 I'm in Pomona, depending on the timing, I could probably go thru and convert drw. I have been looking for d60 for awhile and anything at 2k here is going to be sold fast. If you see one and have the $ probably grab it.

That's not to far from here. Thank you. I will hopefully be able to grab the next one

I'm holding onto this one for now. I have M1008 with one so I'm up in the air on selling the one that's pulled. I will list it here for the members first. They're getting harder to find and we're having to extend our radius to find them now.
