2.5" OR 3" MUFFLER ????

I'm running a GMPP 383HT with Sanderson headers into a single 3" with Flowmaster 70 series. Runs strong and not too loud. Originally, had a 40 series but couldn't hear myself think.

Thats a nice exhaust set up. Wouldnt work here in California tho. I had to go smog legal headers that Y into single 3", 3" high flow cat to 3" Flowmaster 40 series with a 3" tail pipe. Also I was pushing 350HP.

if your going to run flowmasters it doesnt matter what sized you run from 2.25-3" the only differance in them is ther nipple size, so if you have a 2.5" pipe already and the internals of the 2.5 and 3" are the same your not really gaining anything are you? And yes i know this to be true for a fact, just ask any knowledgable muffler guy, they purposley buy the smaller ones and strecth them out to save a little money. they normally wont say anythin because the mentality is not "oh their all the same" its "i have a 2.25" muffler hacked to a 3", what good is that?" so really just make it easy on yourself and run a 2.5"
