2\" body lift for diesel???

I can get a new 2" kit for 50 bucks. It is for his 350 k5. It does not say anything about a diesel. Will it work?? Thanks Mike

Check the archives.

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

I think your biggest problem is making the fan shroud work.

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

Did a search for 2" body lift for a 6.2 and nothing was found. So does anyone know if this can be done? Thanks Mike

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

Try your search again

*HINT* search for "body lift" in this forum *HINT*

Excessive meanness removed.

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

Why do you feel the need to be such an A$$hole? I don't have a problem with telling someone to do a search or even giving them pointers on how to effectively do a search, but the smart a$$ comments aren't necessary! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

This board didn't become great by people acting this way toward one another, so knock it off! /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

I put a 2" body lift on my crewcab, and the shroud had to be removed for fan clearance. Now the POS overheats on any uphill grade under 40km/h (25mph?). Apparently, you're supposed to run the fan as close as possible to the rad when not using a shroud - not something I've entirely comfortable with on a 4x4 that gets some twisty action.

The whole truck is up for re-design when it gets dieseled /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

i put on a 3" body lift on my 86 K30 6.2 as far as the radiator shroud, i cut the bottom of mine off, so you still have about 3quarters of it left.no over heating problems yet- but it has not been above 60 degrees since install. i live in pottstown PA. about 40 minutes west of philly. if you would need a hand, i might be able to help you out

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

864door, I might take you up on that. For now it is on hold. I just got laid off. Well, Thanks a lot. mike

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

Sorry to hear that, do you have anything lined up?
Well try and look on the bright side, now you have more time to work on your truck, do things that don't cost money or not much at least.
I have a ton of things I can do, and if I loose my job I know what I will be doing.
Chin up. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: 2\" body lift for diesel???

No, I don't. My mother is sick. I called out to take care of her. Then the a$$hole gave me the boot. Trying to keep the chin up. It is not looking good for me right now and to top it off the town is on my a$$ about all the chevy parts all over the place. Thanks for the replys. Imiceman44, yea, you are right I have the time to finish the k5 now. Well, Take care Mike
