does anything have to be modded to run a 2" body lift on an 81 K5? (beside the radiator shroud)

Bumper brackets, unless you want it to look goofy. The trans shifter linkage will have to be adjusted. Also worth upgrading the steering intermediate shaft to a u-joint style shaft due to the misalignment caused by the BL. Many guys on here recommend the XJ shaft conversion, but since I destroyed the int shaft on my XJ, I'd prefer a stronger (although more expensive) aftermarket shaft.

I already have the XJ shaft . I think I'll just stick to a 1" BL

You will still need to address the fan to shroud issue and also the shifter linkage issue but like was said, the bumper won't be nearly as noticeable with only a 1" BL. Depending on what t-case you're running (NP208 i think would be stock) then you will need to readjust the shifter linkage there also.

Good point, Scott. NP208(that is what he has) has the shifter mounted to the floor, doesn't it? I never had one, so I'm used to t-case shifters just mounting to the t-case and adapter.

yeah mounted to the floor - I don't mind adjusting linkages or the shroud, what I want to avoid in having to mess with the steering shaft or welding extensions to the linkages. I don't have bumpers right now, so that doesn't matter :D

Sometimes you can get away without having to weld an extension for the trans shifter but expect to have to do that and be glad if you don't have to.

I took a look at my links under the blazer last night. I might be able to get buy with out extending any links with a 1" BL - looks like that's what I'll get
