I have an 87 K5 and my temp guage wasn't working, so I replaced the sensor on the front of the engine on the intake manifold...Gauge still doesn't work...Whats the deal...I thought I saw here one time that there are TWO temp sensors; one for the computer and one for teh gauge...is this true? Where is the second temp sensor? Thanks....

The one for the gauge is in the drivers side head. You replaced the one that goes to the computer. /forums/images/icons/mad.gif

I don't know about '87, but my '77 has it on the driver side block between #1 and #3 cylinders. Did they change it from 77 to 87?

Look closely. It's most likely screwed into the head, not the block. /forums/images/icons/cool.gif
