Yes,
and No.

I will try to get you some pics of the shackle flips, they are simular to ORD's but are shorter. 1-1/2" and 1-3/4" lift versions that I made for myself and TJ to level our K-5's and get better flex. I already had full lift springs so ORD's would have been too tall. Starting with 5x3 angle at the frame, using flat bar and a 3-1/2" OD tube for the shackles worked pretty well.
I dont think I would even attempt to build sway bar disco's. For the price Watson sells them for it is not worth the effort. Just buy them slap them on in about an hour and save the rest of the weekend for something else. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

Rene, how much lift did this set-up give you. Looks good, me like!

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

That netted me 4" of lift. I had 4" blocks before...

I did a bolt on shackle flip (borregok5 Helped with plans) and I am looking at doing disconnects for a friend. Here are some pics of the flips they are 3/8th plate steel.

BYB and TRUSTY, looks like you both moved the factory mount forward some. How much was it moved forward? TRUSTY, what is that shackle from? It looks longer then a factory chevy one.

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

Believe it or not mine is in the stock location I needed new ones and replaced them when I put the flips on. If you use the ford springs you have to move them which is what trusty is using I believe.

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

Yea, now that you mention it seems I recall seeing the long thread about his f150 swap. I guess those shackles came of the furd.

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

I moved my shackle hanger mount back 2 1/2" and used the 57" Ford springs. The shackle I extended 1 1/2".

We did the exact same shackle flip on my buddy's 89 Blazer using the stock hanger location, the stock length shackle and the stock 52" rear springs and gained 4" of lift.

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

That flip came out pretty good! The 3/8's plate was the magic number for the geometry change top to bottom. Looks beafy! /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

Re: 2 fabrication q\'s

It worked out great allot easier than trying to bend them. I have not tried them out on my truck yet but I used a buddy as a guiney pig first and he loves them I think I'm gonna cut the corner off to round it off more for a better look. Thanks again for the plans on how to make them. Ryan
