2 piece dirve shaft

When my truck was 2wd it had a long 2 piece drive shaft with a carrier bearing

I was thinking about keeping the 2 piece and just making the part after the carrier bearing a slip joint

Any opinions?

I think that is gonna cause a lot of stress on the carrier bearing
