what is the best way to go about dissasembling the front axle u-joints? I know there are usually c-clips that need to come out, but I either cant find them or dont know where to look. There oem spicer 1986 1-ton.

I'm getting sick of wire brushes on grinders and drills to clean rust. Is it worth building my own or buying a sandblaster, or does anyone know of any paint prep/rust remover procedures that work well?

Thanks,
Heaph

The C clips on axle shafts are on the inside of the cup not outside like the driveshaft.

For rust I use different things for different places.
On thread and important parts I use PB blaster or any rust eater spray.
On steel or cast pieces that just need cleaning I do sand blast or lightly wire brush then paint with rustoleum.
A sand blaster is definitely something I don't regret buying, in fact I regret buying a small portable blaster, I need to get the big pressurized tank.
