As I work through the POs work on my K5, the next step is to rebuild the front end (kingpins, tierod/drag link, etc)

Can anyone tell me if there is an advantage to running both a high steer and the original or will I just be wasting $$ by putting new GM ends on the original one. I have no problem keeping it around if it adds to the stability of the front axle.

Thanks in advance

if high steer why still stock i dont get it . ditch that sucker .

also if its high steer and hard core offroad truck ditch the tin diff cover . potect them gears with a BIG BOY cover like diy4x or ruffstuff specialty's sells . my 4x4 trucks have them on both ends . got to protect the big money guts . 1 truck has a ARB . the other has a EATON E-LOCKER . . . .built cover is cheep insurance for possible damage . i have personaly seen 2 dana 60 axles get trashed from the stock tin cover hanging up and pulling away from the case and draining the oil and trashing the gears . 1 even got so hot it melted the pinion in 2 .
