2 ton?

Found a listing in the local traders giude I'm gonna check out tonight. The add says it's a 1977 2 ton c30 (I think it said c30, don't have the ad in front of me) 4x4 with a 350 sbc for $300. Wouldn't this have the D60 front end? I'm mainly interested in the drivetrain and could care less what the rest is like. I can't really afford it but if it is the D60/14BFF I will beg/borrow/steal the money just to have em sit in my yard a while. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

Buy it now! If its a ?30 4x4 its got the 60 and 14 and prob a NP205 plus a motor and trans. If you don't buy it quick it will be gone forever. Hard to find and at that price its about 1/10 of what its actually worth in parts, maybe even more. /forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Got the ad in front of me now, I was wrong it's a c20 and a 1980. Not sure why they call it a 2 ton though...wouldn't it be a 1 ton? /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif /forums/images/graemlins/woot.gif

a c20 would be a 2wd 3/4 ton

HMM, sounds like this guy doesn't know what he has. The ad lists it as a 4wd...my luck it's a 3/4 ton. He has it listed as a 2 ton /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Well I called and the truck is gone /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif It was a K30 and the buyer DROVE it away for $300 3 hours after the ad ran /forums/images/graemlins/ignore.gif

I did check out another ad and I think I may be getting it. It's a 77 3/4 ton chevy truck with no motor, sm465, np205, and a 14B with a gov lock in the back. Would that 14 bolt rear be a SF or FF? He is asking $400, and after selling 2 tires and one of my old computers I may have enough to buy it.

I think '77 was the first year for the 14 SF, so it could be either depending on options.
