Can a 2wd box be used with stock d60 steering? I'm told the pitman arm can be clocked in several ways.

2wd box = full spline sector shaft. center nut/lockwasher held on arm.

4wd box only 25% of the sector shaft is splined. and arm held on with pinch bolt.

and 2wd turns backward of 4wd box. so if you wanted to use a 2wd box on a stock steering 4x4 axle left would be right and right would be left.

nope. 3 bolt to frame now . our stuff is 4 bolt to frame. and the newer ifs stuff has the bolt hole tabs on the other side of the box as the ifs box bolts to the inside of the frame.

I just took a 2wd steering box off of my 4wd with stock style steering.

It didnt turn backwards but the 4wd arm will not work on the box because of the reasons mentioned above and the factory drag link ends will not work in the ford pitman arm that I had on the box.

I had crossover on the truck but decided to take it back to stock and restore it. thought I could get away with just clocking the pitman arm but like I said the drag link end was too big to fit the pitman arm correctly.
