Just wondering what is the best way to go with a 2 wheel drive steering box. I want to do crossover steering maybe Hydro assist later. What are my options.

Doncha need about 4" of lift to do cross over though?

All you actually need is the sector shaft. Unbolt the 4 top bolts that hold it down, and swap.

2wd box would probably be easier than a sector shaft swap. It'll need to be ported to run the hydro assist. I think you may need a specific pitman arm too?

There's been a couple of people running 3" lifts and crossover. I'm hoping mine will go okay, we'll see by the end of the month!:D

I have a lot of play in my steering, I think its in the box. As long as I'm replacing the box, I thought I would just buy a good box. That i could use with hydo down the road. Just wondering what others are using and having good luck with. I have about 5 1/2 inches of lift. 4" springs, 1" Zero rates, and heavy duty shackles on the front. rear has shackle flip, 1" zero rates, stock springs.

I'm running crossover and roughly stock suspension height.

You just have to use bumpstops to keep the springs from contacting the draglink end (and a bent draglink, like ORD's, to clear the engine crossmember)

If you decide to do the sector shaft swap it is very simple. Stomper helped on mine. It took all of 10 minutes.

Its a piece of cake as long as you have the correct sector shaft. There are 2 different types/sizes in the gear teeth.
