2 wheel peel / rebirth of a short bed c-10

then all set in place ready for weld in and ran out of easy grind wire :doah:

had to put put down the the road in the snow storm we are getting now and pick up a roll. no big deal it is what it is.

ya there not 100% perfect but 10x better than bad sections before. and once all the stuff is on there you wont see it in black paint.

local welding shop. its a esab brand. will get part # for ya thursday . :thumb:

it does grind faster for body work repairs. but not as strong for welding strong .

i figured i was doing somthing wrong when i first started there as my weld wernt holding as good . then he told me oh ya dont use the 110 welder for heavy duty . use the lincoln 210 volt unit.

afterthat i realy noticed a diffrence. the easy grind is a lot nicr . flattens off faster with less heat / warping in the panels.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

also just ordered the inner bumper brackets from lmc to finish the mock up of the rear bumper and making trailer hitch plates.

.

ya time for diffrent avatar. but i will say i stole the image from your web site :D

but i gave one to my buddy we built his k30 truck with all recycled parts basicly .

no problem on the welding wire info buddy .

got the welder loaded up with new wire today after the snow plowing was done from the storm.

got it close and strong . dont need fancy perfect in this area.

ready to paint black and load it up with parts.

going to coat the inside in some rock/chip gaurd stuff i did the fuel tanks in to seal it up n keep dry. but i will not plug the drain slots with it . so when water does get in it wont be traped.

we got core support mounted up and holes cleaned out with tap .

also ordered new headlight adjuster bolt/clips as mine were old / cracked / rounder and needed new. cant find them in any auto body books for the 89-91 style nose. lmc is 5 each on hem . i used my wholesale price at dealer and got them cheeper.

come out real nice for a rebuild and fix up of the unit.

also got the front bumper mounted up today .

all said and done its 1/4" at most off level from left to right as it sits now. need to do final tweeking when body is in place.

and thats a 4" std 2wd valence. i am going to get a new 4x4 version at 5.5" tall and non tow hook hole option . 40 new is all. as you can see it helps clean up the look under the bumper a lot i think. and gives the ilusion of being lower than it is.

big day today on the project truck .

body test fit / check body lines all panels / check overall stance and look .

i like it for a clean daily driver truck . the 2.5" drop frt/rear still make it nice but not to low.

its got 1/2 or little under 31" tires on 8" rims now . she sits 14" to the rocker lip off the ground.

I really like the stance..

that blue one sits too low...

ya i am going blue/white kind of like that truck . and that is a bit low for me also that is why i just did 2.5 frt/back on mine.

guys at work riding my butt all the time its to high it needs to lay frame drop it man . :cool1:

i tell them you buy it / you build it / then you do what you want. i WANT a clean dd use truck . and the pot holes around here are not getting any better.
