In my shop. Doing stuff.
Has anyone used the knock off littium batteries being sold on line? My 5 and Amphour batteries are about dead. The new Dewalts are more that I paid for most of the tools years ago.

Looking for options.

I have some of the Ryobi knock offs from Amazon that I bought on the recommendation of a friend although I have not taken them out of the package but they said they worked just as good as the factory batteries.

I was looking at the DeWalt knock offs for my impact before I was given one.

I got some 6ah makita knock offs they are @ year old and have been moderately used. Only noticed 1 doesn't like to unlatch. I think some emery cloth to the locking tang would fix it.

The knockoffs are OK but not as good as the real ones. I work with a few guys that have tried some, none were junk. The only way to buy legit Dewalt batteries is in a 2 pack. Singles cost a fortune.

I use the big 5ah most of the time and sometimes the 60v. I really like the small batteries when working in cabinets, lot lighter and fit better in tight spaces. No perfect battery, nice to have a mix of sizes.

I got a couple lasted a few months.
I now look for deals on oem only. Snag them when I find them on discount

I saw something where a guy bought and adapter to run Milwaukee batteries on a DeWalt. If you had Milwaukee stuff along with your DeWalt it might make sense to have an adapter. But if you don’t I would have done what you did to buy more of the correct batteries.

I have an adapter to run a 20v Dewalt in the old 18v tools. I got it back when I upgraded to 20v. Everything has been replaced except a small 18v circular saw that I still use a little. Now I am into 60v stuff too.

IMO, OEM in the biggest size you can... unfortunately...

getting ready to add M12 to my stuff... ordering a 2 pack of the larger 3A bats... I bought Makita knockoffs like 10 yrs ago and they sucked...
