2000 and up 10 bolt question.??

Anyone bolted up a newer 8.6" 10 bolt complete rear axle under an older 1/2 ton truck/k5 ? Is it a direct bolt in?
I want to put it under the rear in my 89 K5.
A friend of mine gave me one. Havent seen it or picked it up yet. From what I have seen of the newer 10 bolts. The carrier looks a bit stronger than older 10 bolts. Plus it has disk brakes.

IIRC the frame width on the newer trucks is different so perches would need to be moved at the least.
