2000 C3500 starting questions

I'm trading for a 2000 C3500 with a 7.4 Vortec/4L80E, to swap into my 89 Burb.
The truck has been wrecked and the instument cluster is gone, however the maintenance records indicate 89K miles.
Will the engine start and run without the cluster, or does the VATS need the cluster to start/run.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea if Vats needs the instrument cluster to run however

*After thinking about it, I think you'll have to have vats disabled in order to swap the motor into your 89 anyway*

Thanks for the link. I am planning to delete VATS and all other unneccessary stuff when I do the swap.
Did you enjoy your snow yesterday? We got 0". 'Course, two weeks ago we got 14".

Still enjoying it. Its so funny to watch all the people down here who can't drive. I never took the dually out of two wheel drive and there were 3 people in the ditch on my way home from work. Its a 15 min drive!
