Just changed the trans fluid in my Camry after ~29k miles.
The service interval is not in the owners manual and all over the place in the interwebs.
15k-60k but I'm sure that's other year Camrys. I don't know.

Anyway. The pan was clean, the screen was clean, the magnets were clean, and the trans worked fine. Did I just push it past it's service time? It was weird to see black BLACK, really watery fluid come out. I've never had that on any other vehicle. It's always red. It only calls for <5 quarts, maybe it gets burnt quicker with less fluid. Makes me wish I saved the Blazer fluid the other day, Amsoil stuff looked new, could have put it in the Camry :doah::haha:

And while I'm at it, here is another question for this car.

So lately I've been having the quick oil change places take care of this car.
But I've got so many misc oils sitting around from when I used to take care of all my cars.
So I've thrown in some "new" trans fluid that I bought probably 8 years ago.

I've also got several engine oils around.
I tossed in....
2.25 quarts of Kendal synthetic, 10 years old
1 quart of Valvoline VR1 dino-oil, 4 years old
1 quart of Valvoline Maxlife semi synthetic, 8 years old
I think they were all 5w-30 or maybe one was 10w-40, don't remember.
Tomorrow afternoon I will drive it off the ramps and check levels. If the engine is low, I have more VR1 to put in.

Is that a concoction for trouble? All oils were in my garage and they poured like new. They didn't look to have water contamination.

On my wife's 2003 Honda civic the owner's manual says 90k, I checked it at 70k and it was black, I freaked out and I started changing it every 30-40k.
Has 255k now and it's still going strong.
I don't know what else to say.
As for the oils I have put all kinds of oil, never worried as long as there was no warranty to worry about

Hey Issaam, thanks for piping up. I read this last weekend but didn't even think to reply.
Car seems fine so far :D It's got about 90 miles on it since Sunday, 90% of that is freeway.
