Ok so my bud has been using sirius radio for a few years now.... he uses the fm transmitter built in and it works good...

anyhow he just recently started getting the engine rpm feedback through the radio..... it is very annoying.. what can he do?

I believe it is a loose ground somewhere..

he used jumper cables from the ground on his battery to the engine with no fix.... the body to the engine ground is good (as he has a light under the hood and it works)

any ideas on how to troubleshoot it? It is not like he added a new component then issues arose or you go backwards to figure out the problem....

thanks
Jeff

i would check for any loose wires and go also check if the head unit in the truck is grounded correctly.

x2.bad ground is the only way to really get those sounds through the radio.maybe bad spark plug wires.ive heard of wires being bad and grounding out and giving off engine noise through the radio.no personal experience on this though.

Yeah we use to have an old geo and a ford escort we thrashed in high school. Both began suffering from this because of ignition wires....

I would check the grounds then the plugs...
