2004 6.0 litre in my 84'

Weighing my engine options for my 84' jimmy . Just bought this rig and is my 2nd k5 . I have 402 block and heads and have considered this motor for it , it still has to be built . Now i have found a 04' 6.0 w/ wiring harness ,computer pretty much everything it needs to run for $1500 . Has anybody had any experience w/ puttiing late model gm setups in their earlier model gm k5 or truck ? Maybe let me know the challenges , tricks to doing it . also what running gear would you run ,trans ,transfer,diffs ,etc.? Just kicking this around .

Your not alone here, I'm in the process of installing a 5.3 in my k-5.
Have not started it yet, just gathering parts for now.
If it has low miles, your 6.0 sounds like a good deal.

Man thanx for the thread info . Good to know they didnt change the bell housing really opens up the possibilities for this swap .Would really like to know how this setup runs on the road and trail .

Have to get new camera .The one i have really sux . Will post pics start to finish . What ever way i go . Really excited to get this thing started !
