2004 Chevy Impala

hey guys any help would be appreciated I have a 2004 Chevy Impala with the 3.4 My battery light came on earlier, and it appears that my alternator is bad.. I am wondering if it is internally or externally regulated or is there anything else that could cause the battery light to come on... Battery is less than 6 months old.

Internal regulator IIRC. Needs an alt.

You've checked the basics? All connections and fuses are good?

Make sure to have the alt tested before replacement too. Just to be sure.
