2004 LS pulse signal

Sorry VSS
The factory tune is looking for 40 pulses per revolution sensor. It takes that and mixes it with whatever gear ratio/tire size is programed into the tune and outputs 4000 pules per mile to the speedometer. If your running a Electronic trans with pre transfer case VSS signals you will need to have the low range switch hooked up so it knows to change the shift parameters for the different speed output. If your VSS is located on the output of the transmission its less important

You can use whatever sensor input or output you want really as long as you change the tune to match it. everything is adjustable. here is a screenshot of HPtuners page.

Ok this is what I was thinking about using
I dont have an electric controlled trans its a stand-alone so just needing it for the computer
I hear the engine will Shut off when ever I come up to a stop
Dakota digital also has another option thats not a pass through so I cant use my Mech speedo

Those sensors will work for you. Ive seen a few threads on Hptuners forum about setting them up.

Does your transmission controller not have a VSS output? What trans and controller are you using?

some people have the shut off without vss, I did not on my first swap. It will act funny sometimes. For example since the ecm does not know if the car is moving, it will lower your rev limiter to the Park/neutral settings. So you just have to use that setting as your actual rev limiter. a manual tune should fix that too. The idle can also act up but that is fixed with throttle cracker settings.

I'm pretty sure you need a manual trans tune settings in the ECM since you are not using it to control the trans. If you do not have a manual tune the ecm gets cranky since it doesn't have any trans info. The biggest reason why I ended up adding VSS to my swaps was to be able to use cruise control.

Dont have a transmission controller
Using a built 700r4 and a 208
The ecm is already set up for a manual trans
