Just looking for some tire suggestions on my new rig. It's a CC 6ft box model (not that it makes much diff.)

PO had some obnoxious mud tires on it that he wore out highway driving it so now I'm gonna replace them first thing.

It will probably see mostly highway use some off road, and I like the look of A/T's so if anyone has some good suggestions go ahead!

Looks like the 245/75-16 is original size, but my friend at work has some 285's on his same rig and they fit nicely.

if you can hold off a bit keep a eye open on ebay and discount tires store on there .

thay have been doing a few sales a year and give instant 100 off coupon if you spend over 400 . and its good up to 3 times . . . so if 4 tires is over 800 bucks split the order for 2 and 2 and save 200 .

also free ship and no tax a bonus .

my last 3 sets of tires have come this way .

hope to do it on my 2wd when ready for its tires .

and I like bfg at ko tires . good ride / traction / quiet / snow traction great . just keep alignment and rotation on point so they don't wear funny .

Yea, that sure would be nice if I could wait it sounds like a great way to buy em. Problem is that I'm flying to Georgia to go get the truck and then I have to drive it back to Wisconsin.

My dad already picked it up for me and he's currently driving it for me to make sure all is well but those worn out mud tires for the 1000 mile ride home just ain't gonna cut it.

I had some BFG A/T's myself in the past and I agree, they were nice tires indeed. I just don't know if I'd get 30k miles out of them though, I'd really like to get at least that out of them. Last set I had didn't wear too great but then like you say rotation and alignment is important.

I'm happy with my Dunlop mud rover max tractions. 285/75/16 load range e. They are a mud/ at hybrid. They are really soft though I have about 15k plus a burnout or two and they are at about 60%. Toyo just released a hybrid tire that looks real good too.

You can't go wrong with the BFG At KO's,or the new KO2's. Great life, run smooth, quiet enough.

What's the BFG AT "KO"?
I've had some BFG AT's but don't recognize the KO you guys are referring to.

I'm currently looking at the Hankook Dynapro AT M tires. And the guy at the tire store just called me back and priced at $160 a piece. I guess I'll go for it and buy the lifetime alignment and balance package too. (Firestone)

The BFG AT you are referring to has always been technically called the AT/KO.

The AT/KO2 is the new pattern that came out this year. I put some load range E KO2's on some trucks at work, and they have been awesome. As good or better then the old pattern.

I ran these for about 25K on my 99 2500...loved everything about them. Great traction on/off road, handled very good (load range E) I got the 265/75's on mine they were about 31.5" tall new, and relatively wide compared to other tires of the same specs.

KO's were the tread design from about 2000 to earlier this year, now we have the KO2. You can still get the KO now but it is fading as they make the KO2 in more sizes.
I liked the last set I had but don't think the Silverado will get any. WAY too expensive.

At the $160 price point make sure they are quoting the LT tires and not P metrics. Ran into that a bit myself lately.

Just to update all - I went with the Hankooks and am very happy with them. They ride like a champ on the highway even with the pretty agressive AT tread pattern. Good quality for the price. Now will see how they wear long term.

Sounds like a good deal man. What's the Wha sounds like a good deal man. What's the warranty on the LT Patrick tires? t's their warranty on the LT tires?

Thinking about either the Cooper AT3 or ATW on mine before winter.
