2004 Suburban 2500

Fairly clean
I sold my '22 GMC 2500, and this will be my replacement. I drove about 5 hours from home to pick up this 2004 suburban. It’s in really good shape for the age aside from the badly slipping transmission. The plan is to get the transmission rebuilt, get a set of factory PYO rims and some 35s on it. I have always wanted an 8.1 suburban, and I’m really happy to be truck payment free!

If for the engine alone, you stole it at $2500. Great score. You need to brush up on the 8.1 stuff in the 8.1 thread. @Wes Harden has a similar Burb to yours too that he's picked up in the last year. Great trucks.

yeah I thought I got a good deal at 7k, plus I added another 2.5 in parts for some maintenance and tires. Nice find.
This has really high miles but seems to run great hopefully a new transmission and some other odds n’ ends and I’ll have a reliable tow rig.

nice 14k towing. and can turn those 35's. Trans is 4l80 or allison ?

Congrats on the new truck, may it serve you well. Good looking crew cab too! :waytogo:

Let us know how it tows with a 12.4" wide tire on 6.5" wide rim. I was hesitant to go that big on my 2500 burb/PYO. Some say it works great, some say it's all squirmy. Surely, it depends on which tire you're running.

Been running the shown tire wheel combo on different rigs for the last decade on different trucks. I run 30psi when not in-tow. While towing I add air until the sidewalls don’t squat. I get 40k miles out of most tires, and that’s running no name mud terrains. I have never had a blowout either.
