Hello,

I’m new to ck5 and am going to have a radius arm coil over installed 14” travel, and have been recommended to get a Ford Dana 60, as I have 705 ft lbs torque. Currently have 37’s, and may go to 40’s after burning through my current tires. I am also upgrading my np203 to 205, and have the option of either drivers or passenger side transfer case, and am also getting a Magnum under drive.

I have checked the forum for previous related threads and wasn't able to find one.

The drive line and all related parts will be upgraded. From what I understand, the benefits are Ford Dana 60‘s are cheaper, larger brakes and higher pinion, to benefit drive line angle.

My purpose has been to build a KOH style rig, crawler/pre-runner. Does anybody here have thoughts or experience with the Dana 60 for my application?

I wasn’t able to include any photos. Clicked on all icons that were photo related, to no avail?

Welcome @Boyblueblazing

Yes the Ford d60 is strong candidate for coil over conversion, esp if you can go driver side drop. They are definitely cheap to aquire, but mods needed add $$. Not a big deal if coil over linked suspension is the end goal.

The lug circle will not match a 14bff for our trucks so be aware.

Thanks for your reply Wes! That’s what I was thinking, just wanted to get some confirmation from someone other than one who can make a buck with a recommendation.

Yep. And you can get unit bearing hubs for that 60 that are 8 on 6.5 pattern from Branik Motorsports I believe. Or you can redrill them yourself
