To all the chevy gurus:

Any of you guys replaced a front hub assy on one of these trucks? My local dealer is wanting $680 :doah: to replace mine because the driver's side wheel bearing is going bad and evidently you have to replace the whole assembly. Napa has the replacement part for $244, so I need to do it myself if possible. Just looking for some guidance to see what's involved in installing one. Thanks.

Jason

i have a 2500hd and i changed them both and they are no big deal, i got them from autozone and they were 225 for the good one, that was last year. just remove the caliper and the rotor and there i a few bolts and the clip for the abs and really a piece of cake... thats what i remember from last time........ ....rob

Yeah, I replaced one for a buddy of mine, and it's easy, just that my buddy is kinda "mechanically declined". I would never pay the shop rate for this, as it's just too simple to do.:thumb:

I have a 2003 and replaced the left front with a Napa hub and ABS assembly, works just fine and took no time to do. Just do it! wait I've heard that somewhere before...
