Whats up everyone just wanted to share my tug of war story with all you . It was this past tuesday after work me and my cousin finally hooked our trucks up back to back tug of war with a 8 foot tow strap. I drive a 76 blazer with a 350 in it on 38 's . My cousin drives a 06 f 150 with a 5.4 on 35 's .All I can say is I love my blazer , it pulled that ford like it was a little quad or something . Wish I would have got it on film but it wasnt somthing that was planned.

what are the axles? low range or high?

Well it's pretty apparent that you haven't a clue when it comes to talking about rear ends. If you think the only difference is 2 bolts then your dumber than the post that you made. Try back later when you get some smarts m'kay............

Um just a little fyi, 2 bolts arent the difference. The difference is a ring gear that is almost 2 inches bigger in diameter (10.5 vs. 8.875), dont forget the difference in carrier strength, pinion size and strength, axle shaft diameter, housing strength, ff vs. s/f, etc. Night and day difference. Ive seen 12 bolts break with 35's and only moderate abuse. 38.5's sounds like an accident waiting to happen on a s/f axle. Its like racing a 4 cylinder civic against a 7 liter corvette z06. Have you ever tried to pick up a 12 bolt? If you think thats hard (about 250 lbs) try to pick up a 14ff which weighs in at a whopping 550lbs. Tell me that it is made from 2 bolts.

Im not trying to bash you..cause I hate fords and I give you credit for embarrasing him. But get your facts straight and realize 38.5's arent exactly half-ton friendly.

too bad i'm not a little closer to Glamis... i'd have to come down and embarass you with a completely stock 30 year old truck. i've got "2 extra bolts" too. :deal:

and i'll even put the shifter in 2wd too.

My rear only has 10 bolts so it must be even worse... :(

Those little alpha-numeric characters cast in the webbing might say otherwise tho... Something along the lines of "D70HD".

I not here trying to get specs on rear ends I just know if you didnt live that damn far we'd be having a tug of war no matter what you drive, thats what I'm getting at .:D

afraid to travel? cuz i bet that tank gets 30mpg too doesnt it? and them big old 38s you could prolly float right across the ocean, so that our brothers across the world can have some tug o war fun, right?
