That’s a fiberglass hood and a steel CJ grille he modifies to bolt into a TJ. He offers the full drop down style hood as well and you can run CJ fenders. I’d go for the crawler hood like the one pictured.

That winch is sweet! Lots of sexy parts on this, I'm jelly. :D
Thank you. A lot of bolt on stuff. But i really like it. almost put it up for sale recently. And remembered this is the 3rd wrangler I've owned and swore id keep it as long as possible.

These were my other two Jeeps. My current K10 is my 3rd squarebody type truck as well.

Trade you for an Xterra.... :D

I had a coworker who SAS'd his xterra. He used a 79 bronco d44. I helped him regear it to match the Nissan rear axle. It was a cool rig. He went through engines quickly though.

Mine is the 2nd Gen. You have to use a Rubicon JK axle or Super Duty axles with the ABS stuff. And it has the better VQ40DE engine.

I do love my Xterra though. Just did a couple hundred mile camping/wheeling trip around VA/NC/TN this last weekend and averaged 15mpg.

That's a nice collection you've had. Definitely hang on to the LJ, they are such a unicorn you'd really regret letting it go and pay through the nose to get another.

No shame in bolt on stuff, everything on ours is kit stuff with no mods. My wife is nut about not doing anything irreversible on it (as if she'd ever want to go back stock :surepal: ). I've been wanting to get a high clearance skid and 1.25" body lift for it but it drives so good now I'm leery of the motor mount/tcase lifts that go along with it.

I have the savvy/currie 1.25" body lift and mml and a UCF high clearance aluminum skid. Not the total flat belly but its 2" raised. And it is a gamble when you start pushing things around like that on drivability afterword's.

Switched out the Zone coils for Savvy Rock jock 4" coils and OME shocks. Installed the anti rock sway bar. Cut up the Fenders to install MCE fenders. Moved the signals into the grille at this time with JK signals which accept the factory TJ socket. Also added a UCF aluminum front stubby bumper. Took it out off road a little. Added sliders at this time. Used it to haul the K10 axles home.20201102_181043.jpg20201031_162722.jpg20201031_162635.jpg20201024_111620.jpg20201024_093656.jpg20201010_100735.jpg20201009_173208.jpg20201009_173124.jpg20200605_175203.jpg20200530_113953.jpg20200530_113938.jpg20200530_093558.jpg20200530_093542.jpg20201031_150354.jpg20201031_135311.jpg20201031_132657.jpg20201031_132644.jpg20201031_113058.jpg

Added a sport cage kit from TMR. It is the Stanchion type cage/bar kit. This is another topic that ignites heated conversations with certain jeep People. I feel fine with it and i Like to fold my windshield down. Another dated thing to do. Makes me think of my old man who I lost 3 years ago. he was always a Jeep guy and had several Cj's and wranglers. He always said the TJ is the last Jeep to look like a Jeep, the new ones have the off road spirit, but they don't look like a classic "Jeep".20201017_180122.jpg20201017_162123.jpg20201017_164243.jpg20201017_164228.jpg20201017_164223.jpg20201017_164216.jpg20201017_164212.jpg20201017_162119.jpg20201017_180129.jpg20201024_120530.jpg20201024_090410.jpg20201024_090415.jpg

Installing the SSYE and Moryde gate kit. Tried out some white spoke wheels. And added lower control arm skid plates. And a frameless soft top. My rear axle tube ended up being Bent, it was bent from being rear ended fairly hard after buying it. I personally asked the body shop owner to perform and alignment and check for a bent rear axle. They did not check. I never double checked their work because I trusted them. I learned about it being bent when i went to regear. I tried to straighten it with heat and a large bar. I didn't hold. So I when I saw it was still bent I looked for a good used rear TJ Dana 44. Again, good luck. But, I found a shop in socal selloing NOS empty housings for 1000$ and bought one. I took this time to add carbon off road chromoly axles.

Also installed a minimalist rear bumper, got tired of listening to the Cold Air Intake and the banks monster muffler drones badly. So i swapped to a stock intake and muffler. Guess 40 yrs old is the age when your done with Low HP engines that have loud accessories. Ha.

Some maintenance shots in there and adding a heat wrap kit to stop the hot restart misfire in July these engines sometimes get.

Some accidental shots of my K10 slipped in. And the CJ5 you may notice was my Fathers I fixed it up to look like that for him. I inherited it after his passing. It was super nice, but Life forced me to need to sell it when I had to move back to Montana after moving to Idaho for a bit. I received good $$ for it by selling it on Bring A trailer and very nice gentlemen bought it who will not cut it up. Even if he did its his now.

This just gets better and better!
When this Jeep was rear ended it wasn't lifted. I was stationary at a light. I looked in my rear view mirror at the last second and noticed a car coming fast. I heard the screeching tires and cobbed the throttle and tried to get into the turn lane. I was in the left lane of a four way highway. She caught the receiver hitch that had a stinger in it and my spare and left rear tire and honestly spun me a full 360 on dry pavement. Her car was totaled coolant and oil everywhere and her airbags went off. My Jeep didn't even shut off or light off its little air bags, if they even work. I'm sure they do. It bent the shit out of a super thick ugly U-Haul receiver and F'd the tailgate and the hidden axle tube.

If any cars were coming in the other lanes I would have been destroyed but the light was red, why she hit me.... but it left me room to 360 on the pavement.

If my Jeep were lifted like it is now I can't even imagine how bad it would have went. Her insurance was good and it fixed my jeep, most the way. Then 3 weeks later the engine failed on the highway due to large coolant loss.

Took it out a little more, used the winch a little in that mud cause 35's aren't big. And switched to some Mickey Thompson Alloy wheels. Added a grille hoop just for looks.20220924_120956.jpg20220924_120410.jpg20220924_093514.jpg20220924_093444.jpg20220923_172504.jpg20220923_161959.jpg20220923_161951.jpg20220923_160807.jpg20220923_152924.jpg20220916_112852.jpg20220916_112705.jpg20220711_115237.jpg20200704_111757.jpg20200704_111739.jpg20200704_104902.jpg
