Pretty interesting video, thought maybe you guys would get a kick out of it. I love the way the guy talks about how it's the KING.

Maybe this should have been in the lounge...

haha 300hp and 600ft/lbs and he's all gitty... wonder if he's ever drove a duramax or beefed up cummins? :) Looks pretty slick to me though... I do appreciate what he was saying about it looking "OEMish"... looks like something that could hit the road tomorrow...

It's not anything that is practical really. He mentions of an 8L motor, far too big IMHO and he says it has an Eaton 5 spd transmission. What does that mean? Auto, manual, doesn't say.

It appears to really be more in the range of the F450-550 Fords and 4500-5500 Dodges.

That isn't what people want from Toyota, people want a 3/4t Tundra with a diesel in it.....

They didn't say the manufacturer of the engine. Have heard rumors of toyota working with CAT for a diesel truck. C9 maybe?

I like it. I wouldn't trade my Dodge to get one but I like it. If Toyota wanted to compete in the real (ie; hauling) diesel market I would think this is what they need however I think their target demographic is more inline with what Bobby said; a 3/4 ton diesel.

It's neat to see this, I work at a dealership and we never hear about upcoming models or gossip. If it's at SEMA something has got to be close.

As for the engine maker, didn't a recent magazine say something about Toy and Isuzu?

I don't care for the fenders at all. for some reason they looked "not factory."

I would definantly say it's not a CAT engine, as they don't make anything even close to an "8L" engine. Probably either a Toyota, Hino, or Izuzu motor.

All they need to do is get the power to match my Dodge and offer their Maxi-Cab with the long bed and I'll sell my 2005 Dodge 3500 Dually Cummins and switch. After the recalls and issues I've had with my truck, not to mention the crappy service I'll switch to a Toyota 1-ton dually. Toyota is smart they'll do it right. Also the service is so much better at the Toyota Dealers its not even funny. Another thing is my wife 2007 Camry, 30,000 miles in 15 months zero (0), nada, issues!!

I agree... my grandma is the kind of person that gets cars and keeps them for 10 years... she bought a 2006 Camry when they first hit the lots and she hasn't had a single problem with it. She puts quite a few miles on it b/c she still works 3-4 days a week and takes off for the coast fairly often... hard to beat a 'yota. :)

The only problem with toyota is that they don't have any ass compared to a turbo diesel, heavy chasis truck. If this has a big diesel it will be the first, and probably be the final blow to American trucks.

fenders need to end lower. they look too huge a bulky. i'm glad to see toyota moving the way they are. i strongly dislike the original tundra and have been disappointed to see honda's pitiful entry into the truck market. although, the ridgeline is no truck, IMO.

I like it. the super single fron and dualled rear alcoas. TD crewcab leather......I'd drive one. but not for $70k if thats what they're thinking about.
