2007 Suburban Six Speed Automatic

Chevrolet Suburban: The new Suburban will arrive in early 2006 with an all new design and new powertrains, plus a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Can anyone confirm or deny this information?

yes they will have a 6-spd auto to replace the 4L80, the new transmission is also going to be in the vette, Cadillac XLR-V and STS-V. Its a bandless transmission much like the Allison, Also the Duramax and 8.1 trucks are getting the 6-spd allison for 2006. There is a completely new suburban on the way for 2007 and hopefully it will have a duramax, if not I will be very pissed at GM, but you can get a van with the duramax now.

I checked out the platform link just to the left and it said that the next generation of fullsize trucks will have an I5 engine Looks like the 4.3 V6 will be droped as the base engine. Oh well I wouldn't think of buying a new GM product anyways, bunch of IFS pussy looking trucks anyways.

i5?? what is chevy thinking? bend over, here it comes again. that's what they're thinking. the new 6-speed is sweet ( i read about in a car mag) but what's with chevy dropping the ball?

i'm super mad at chevy (the new stuff, not the old stuff) but that's another discussion.

Its all just speculation now, no one knows for sure whats going to be in the new trucks till september when they are supposedly going to be unvieled at the Texas state fair.
