I hit two hundred thousand miles on my 98 S-10 ZR2 the other day. I have owned the rig for about six years and the only problem I have ever had was when I got a gas tank fillup of water. And the intake gasket blew a couple years ago, but I figure everyone assumed the gasket had gone like they always do. I am pretty sure everything is original and it is still running pretty well.

Now I need to start surgery on the ifs like I have always wanted to. I almost have all the parts I need to run a wagoneer 44 front, narrowed 14bff rear and 35" BFG KM2s with these up front.

I wish I could get going on this thing soon but my school schedule is really killing my income and spare fabricating time. And I'm pretty sure I'll be moving away from my dad's nice heated shop with 220 power and two hoists when I graduate in the spring. I kinda need this baby for the big upcoming winter also. I'll get going on it some day, I love this truck. Go Chevy Go.

looks like the front grille was replaced with a 99+. Normally 98s are all chrome and squared off, same as the bumpers. It looks color matched painted too. I like the chrome center, painted outer. That's how my black dime is. I've got an 01 zq8 4.3 auto that passed 100k a few months ago. :)

the intake gaskets are dumb. I replaced mine when the injection spider (anther stupid piece) went bad. 2 birds, 1 stone, lots of money.

nice zr2

The '94 we have here has the 4.3 V-6, done the normal tune-ups, oil changes, fuel pump once, typical water pump, alternator power steering replacement stuff when they go out, i would say the most trouble the motor had was that intake gasket started leaking up near the number one runner area, other than that, it's still running good at 235k (ish) miles :D

of course it's been through two transmissions though, one that died of old age, the second i killed by over working it i think.. :doah:
