My wifes daily won't turn over, the CEL flashes rapidly. When I let off the key I hear some faint clicking Figured it might be the battery. That has since been replaced. Its throwing these codes ATM, P0100 - which is a generic cannot communicate with the ECM error.

These were stored as well P0171/P0174

The 100 error is very generic with many makes and brands throwing the same error. The suggested fixed are all the board. Replaced the O2 sensor, Mass Air Flow Sensor etc. Will a failure with one of these parts prevent it from even turning over? My guess says no

Prior to day, the traverse ran flawlessly, no CEL etc.

Suggestions are welcomed!

Never touched a Traverse but I would try the basics.
Have you measured the voltage at the starter both when trying to start and not trying to start? Wiggled wires, particularly positive and negative wires and at the starter.

newer GM's go nuts when there is a battery or ground issue. I had a 2012 equinox that would refuse to start if the battery was slightly dead or one of the grounds was dirty, even if the multimeter showed it all to be in specs.

Any sensor related to fuel or air flow would not make a non start. Cam position sensors, etc could. The body control module also needs to talk to the ECM. SO check ignition switches and such

Only sensors related to cam position, etc would create a non start

My wife's 2019 Chrysler Pacific is the same way also.

Is the theft deterent light lit?

Also I 2nd the low voltage possiblity.
Check that the engine bay fuse block has good power. These computers want power, and will do weird stuff at 9-10v.

The P0100 code comes up for the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sensor Circuit. Looking directly at the service manual, the p0171/174 codes don't even list for the vehicle. Normally those are fuel trim codes. It doesn't matter as none of the three codes would keep the engine from cranking.

The flashing check engine light isn't normal. Pulling codes that don't normally list for that vehicle isn't right either. Is there a security light on the dash when you attempt to start it?

That makes sense about those other codes, they were stored in the scanner from another vehicle.

Just took picture of the dash. 20200808_194649.jpg

All the lights come on during bulb check when the key is initially turned on. Is the security light staying on when you attempt to crank it? It's the one that looks like a padlock on the left side of the cluster.

No - just the blinking CEL.

Why is the dash showing 4500 Rpm @ 80 mph ?
180° water temp ?

Have you tried simple stuff like disconnect the battery and reconnect?
cycle the gearshift to make sure it's in park/ neutral?
cycle the alarm key fob several times..

The blinking check engine light when the key is on is problematic. That's not normal. I'm curious if you can even communicate with a scan tool. My bet is something is corrupting the data that is inhibiting the communication between modules.

Those suggestions were done initially to include a new battery.

Empirical victory, got it to turn over finally. Its popping the ecm fuse (15 amp)

Now to figure out why....

The picture must have been taken during the initial cluster check, where it sweeps the needles through the full range. Tach and speed are in the same position and blurred due to motion.

May not be the issue or it could be. Google bulletin # pit494a . Crank no start with no communication and or various electrical concerns. Could be a chaffed harness on the right front floor near a stud.
