Our 2014 Silverado is driven by a 17yr old high school kid. He wants "cool" and that definition is much different than mine.

Against my advice he purchased a 3" leveling kit from MotoFab along with the MotoFab Upper Control arms for 2.5+ leveling kits. I advised him buy a 2" kit along with Mevotech TTX Upper Control arms.

Install was a bitch but there were no issues. The truck is out getting aligned now.

I seems to me that the CV Axles are now at a steep angle. I read that more than a 2" lift puts the CV axles at risk of failing in several different ways.

Possible Solutions:

1. Order extended CV axles at a price of $800
2. Drop the front diff 1" to bring the axles back into spec. $50

Anyone performed either of these? Any pros - cons for either solution?

I'd rather do the diff drop just for the price. I wish I could do a 1.25" diff drop...does anyone know where I can find giant stainless washers that would work for a little more of a drop?

I’ve heard of good results with the diff drops.

Check https://www.mcmaster.com/ for your washer stuff. They stock that kind of stuff and give measurements for everything.

Diff drop makes more sense if it won't actually be using that lift to go off road.

Diff drop would make it better offroad…more durable.

Diff drop, hands down. I have not heard good long term results on the extended cv shafts.
