2024 GMC At4x Tow/Overland

Its wishful dreaming for me right now but I keep looking at those and the ZR2s.

That color of yours looks sweet. Nice lookin truck.

I've done a few thousand miles of car hauling with our '22 AT4. It tows way better than any half ton pickup has any right to. At near max GCVWR it felt very stable and had no issues braking or accelerating. Yours being a 3/4 probably tows like a dream.

Depending on your definition of overlanding, the factory tires suck. They fail miserably in slick terrain. I about got stuck going up a mild incline in some snowy/mud. They do fine on dry dirt roads and general adventuring though. Plenty of folks have done control arm upgrades and leveling keys to squeeze larger tires in there so you can get more off road oriented if that's your goal.

It's like a cheat code with a trailer, it's ridiculous being 470hp and 975 lb-ft. The plan is some 37 RidgeGraplers when it needs tires. You can fit them stock with a fender liner kit.

Great truck. The multi-matic DSSV shocks on all the at4x and zr2’s are pretty amazing for a stock truck.

I dig the color too!

Thanks, I'm going to try and keep them for as long as I can. Not even sure what would be a upgrade for them. Ideally I would like a camper of some sorts that will fit both trucks, but the bed size is 2 foot difference.

Two things. Those shocks are close to $2,000 per unit retail at the dealer. Next, they are rebuildable. There are a few places that can service them.

You’d be hard pressed to find an upgrade for those units.

As far as a camper fitting both is going to be a challenge. Though if you got one for the at4x it should fit the square it will have a really large back porch and probably look goofy being short to the bed.

Though Larry picked up a topper shell for his power wagon last weekend and is going to set it up for the next desert trip. That could be an option for the at4x.

It will be a budget build but want to make it removable and be able to go in any type of weather just not deep frozen tundra.

I'm just busting your chops because you used budget in the same sentence as 2024 GMC AT4X overland.

Don't mind me... :waytogo:

took the truck out “wheeling” today and then drove it 433 miles home. Not going to lie the comforts of the truck is amazing. For a 2500hd it rode really well offroad. Yeah I was a little slow compared to the jeeps but it’s a uss tuna boat.

I’ll update with some pictures and a little story cause that’s what overland bros do

Man, thats a nice rig. I really want a newish truck. I love my escalade though. im torn lol
It’s stupid, on paper it’s way more capable then my 82.

The rear locker, front posi, and the low range crawl ratio…

Only thing the 82 has is suspension on it, it will crazy flex and not lift a tire.
