203 Questions

[GMC1977]

So im working on a "secret" project. Just for grins. and using a 203 tcase. well i got it installed all fine and dandy but when i put it in drive only the front driveshaft spins even when its in Hi-Loc or Low-Loc. So is this Tcase junk or an easy fix??

Sounds like the diff in the case might be shot. Does it have a part time kit in it?

Is it making any noise? My NP203 started to make a really bad noise. Sounded like a meat grinder. I think it was the chain slipping. I dropped it and placed in a NP205. THose 203 have a very touchy shifter that needs adjusting. Maybe it is not adjusted correctly. Part time kit is ok but why not go with a NP205? If you want fulltime 4x4 all the time.. even on pavement np203 is the case.

the only reason i have the 203 in it right now is because i got it with a trans for free and i thought i would just try it out. im thinkin of goin with a 241 so i get part time and a more lightweight case.

If you want to keep running a 203, I've got one with a part time shaft kit that works good. Just pulled it out of my 76 and is sitting here taken up space. Free if you want to come get it - DFW airport area.
