Some of them bolted right to a TH350. In fact, that is the most common config in automatics. You just have to find one that came out from behind the TH350, manuals and TH400 205s will not work without trouble and $$$.
what im doing is im buying a 3/4 ton 78 chevy flat bed for 500.00 and im going half on it with a friend im letting him take the 14 bolt and 10 bolt and im getting the 205 and the rest of the truck which i can use for parts since i dont need the 14 bolt its not a bad deal but you see the 205 comes with a manual tranny so my ? now is how much money will i have to spend to bolt it to my 75 jimmy auto TH350 or ive also heard you can get a 205 and a 203 and make a doubler is this true thanx
Another option, since you'll have the whole truck, is to swap the transmission and transfer case from that truck into your K5. First gear in those 4-speeds is a serious granny low crawling gear. Of course, you'll have to shift gears for yourself then.
you will need to have the input shafted chnaged and get a new adapter. If you find a used adapter it will be a lot cheaper and I think thatk30guy has one for sale. The input shaft itself, I think runs about $200-300..
Then if you cant do it, you will need to have someone install it for you...
