The rear output on a yoke style 205, Does the Nut inside the yoke do anything except hold the yoke on and also the input yoke on a divorced 205 again does the nut that holds the yoke on do anything other than that?

i am ALMOST %100 sure thats all the nuts do. i had a 205 appart not to long ago an i didnt have to take them off to get the inputs and outputs out of the case. now, i did take off the rear nut and nothign came appart on me.
