Anyone have any pictures of the round bolt pattern vs. the figure 8 bolt pattern for the 205 transfer case? I thought ORD would have a link from their doubler page, but nothing.

Thanks,

Eric M.

I'm not gonna say which this is...

on the round or figure 8 when you are swapping the trans and the tranfercase both?

I'm not sure if I understand the question. I think you can mate either figure 8 or round pattern 205 to any transmission as long as you have the correct adaptor and the input shaft of the transfer case matches the output shaft of the trans.

thats kinda what i was asking

i was wondering the difference between the round and the 8....not physically but why gm changed? and as long as your tranny and transfercase mount together, it doesn't matter which 1 you have, right? i'm thinking of maybe putting a sm465 back in my truck, but i've kinda grown to like my auto since i found a th400/205 adaptor and i'm not over heating and blowin the front pump out or puking out the fill tube. i went thru 4 th350's before i found a truck with a th400 and a gear drive transfer...i had it built pretty hefty for "towing" what i told the trans man and it hasn't left me stranded yet

i've been told what i have is actually better for the mud because when i clutch to shift the standard ,i would lose moumentum and sink... where as with the auto.. i just gas it more to get wheel speed up without losing my momentum. any advise?
